Culture and Values

Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver Mitch Evans paid a special visit to Solihull to inspire employees and students alike.

Mitch went behind the scenes at the plant to see first-hand how we manufacture the award-winning Jaguar F-PACE and Range Rover Velar in our state of the art manufacturing facility. Whilst he was there, he spent time meeting and chatting with colleagues on the line. He even got the opportunity to fit the all-important Jaguar badge to a customer’s new Jaguar – supervised by an experienced expert associate!

Later in the day, he met more colleagues from the plant during a special signing session where Jaguar Racing gave away merchandise and freebies. Then, after a spot of lunch, Mitch met students from Harrow school who were visiting the Jaguar Land Rover Education Centre, and talked with them about life as a racing driver.

Mitch said, “It was amazing to visit you at Jaguar Land Rover Solihull plant and see the hard work that goes in behind the scenes and the technology that goes into developing such amazing vehicles. Thanks for making me feel so welcome!”

Our Annual Armed Forces Conference

A great turnout saw over 120 colleagues made up of Jaguar Land Rover’s armed forces veterans, reservists and supporters attend the annual event, now in its 4th year.

As a gold standard Armed Forces Covenant holder Jaguar Land Rover has publicly pledged to become an employer of choice for service leavers. We are pleased to have welcomed over 850 ex-service personnel to Jaguar Land Rover since 2014 and have a range schemes to support them transitioning into our business.

“The armed forces conference is a great opportunity to offer veterans and our reservists ongoing support and camaraderie within the business,” commented Rob Lummis, Head of Employee Experiences. “The annual conference is a high point in the year and gives our people the chance to come together from across the business to engage with us and feed into future armed forces activities at Jaguar Land Rover.”

At the conference attendees were given an update on our armed forces engagement activity, had the chance to network with fellow ex-forces leavers from across the business and were treated to a keynote speech from Land Rover ambassador and polar explorer Ben Saunders.

Team Improvement Circles

Our Team Improvement Circle (TIC) UK Convention celebrated each of the Circle’s positive team effort, combined success and TIC journey of problem solving and personal development so our business continually improves for the future.

TIC is now in its third year having been rolled out across the UK, China and India, then later this year will reach Brazil. This year alone, over 480 Circles made up of over 2,000 colleagues from across our global regions successfully completed a TIC theme highlighting the ‘can-do’ attitude of our people to make a positive difference to their local areas.

Grant McPherson, Executive Director of Manufacturing hosted the event and said: “The standard of teams this year has been unbelievable and simply overwhelming. They are incredible! I started my career by getting involved with engagement programmes like TIC and it was a springboard for my problem solving, presentation, leadership and communication skills.”

He went on to add: “Our people are our future and I wish to thank and congratulate those who have put themselves out there through TIC to not only develop themselves but to ensure we continuously improve ourselves as a business.”
