Hardeep’s nomination for Employee of the Month came on the back of his work to bring together a team from across the EMC to raise money for Movember.
An initial target of £500 was smashed and the eventual fundraising total topped £4000.
The 45-year-old, from Telford, began his career at Jaguar Land Rover working on the line in diesel assembly four years ago. Within two years he had progressed to the quality team and now works in quality engineering at the EMC.
He said: “Nine years ago I took a career break from my role as a retail manager to look after my three children. My wife is an accountant, so it made sense.
Joining the EMC on the line four years ago, was my first time working in a manufacturing environment, but I really enjoyed it and pushed for progression.
“It’s great being part of the quality team, as it’s such a supportive group.
“I’d completed Movember a few years back and showed my pictures to the team. They said why didn’t I do it again and it snowballed from there. I was so surprised to win Employee of the Month. The success of Movember was a team effort. We couldn’t have raised the amount of money we did without everyone getting involved and backing the campaign. We certainly have a massive total to beat for next year, so let’s hope even more people get involved.”
